NIRUT CHAMSUWAN STUDIOS

Established in Thailand, Nirut Chamsuwan Studios Co., Ltd. has provided educational and creative services since 2004. These include development of the English: Step-By-Step Pre-K to Primary curriculum and language content for the acclaimed Channel 3 television program English on Tour, in addition to design direction for event organization and publishing initiatives both in education and sequential art.

Hi! I’m Nirut… I spent my formative years in the United States before moving to Thailand and establishing Nirut Chamsuwan Studios. Based in Bangkok, I freelance as an artist specializing in illustration, graphic design and portraiture, and nurture a love for comic books and sequential storytelling that has informed my artwork since youth. While studying architecture at the Savannah College of Art and Design, I often joked that the primary reason for following such a course was to learn how to do backgrounds for comic book panels. World-building and attention to detail have since become integral parts of my artwork.

After a long break from sequential art developing curricula and media to facilitate English language instruction in Thailand, I’m excited about returning to the medium I love, comic books, and am currently illustrating New Camelot, a revival of an Arthurian re-imagining in collaboration with writer Brian Fitzgerald. I love dipping my toes into exciting and adventurous endeavors so if you have any art needs, project proposals or collaboration ideas I’d love to hear from you!

As for the pic, that Superman outfit way back when didn’t come with any red undies (which I get would fit right in nowadays but this was the Christopher Reeve era). I had to insist for dad to brave the winter cold to buy me a set of matching Underoos for verisimilitude. That, pretty much, is me in a nutshell (they’re lucky I didn’t demand tailoring to get rid of those pesky red cuffs)…

Who am I?
